Dr. Asia S. Houston is a native Marylander. She completed her undergraduate studies at Goucher College in Towson, where she studied biology and chemistry. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, where she was inducted into the Gamma Phi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society and was awarded the Dean’s Award for Community Service.
Dr. Houston values empowering her patients through patient education and autonomy, so her patients can take control of their oral health. She cares deeply for her patients’ oral and overall health and prides herself on active listening. She focuses on knowledge and prevention as the keys to a healthy patient. Dr. Houston continues to expand her dental knowledge and skill set through advanced trainings and continuing education seminars to be able to provide the most comprehensive dental care to her patients. She is an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Houston is an advocate for giving back to her community and serving underserved populations. She proudly began her career working in public health and continues to give back through service and volunteering at Mission of Mercy and Project Homeless Connect events. While in dental school, Dr. Houston provided free dental care to surviving women of domestic violence as a member of the Smiles for Success Program. Dr. Houston believes everyone deserves equally exceptional dental care and strives to break barriers for all to have access to oral health care.
In her free time, Dr. Houston enjoys volunteering, baking, crafting, playing board games, and spending time with her family, friends, and 2 dogs (Mason and Bryson).
